Essential Information
Appearance: Roxanne is a petite woman of average height. Her apricot colored hair is styled in a short asymmetrical bob. She has bright turquoise eyes. She is constantly cold and is often seen wearing a blue-green checkered sweater with three quarter length sleeves and a pair of comfortable blue jeans. She's a bit of a tomboy but she would never be seen without her earrings which were given to her by her now estranged mother.
Personality: Roxanne’s confidence was shattered by the death of her pokemon, Jigglypuff, when she was younger. That is why it has taken so long for her to continue down the path to becoming a trainer. She is often unsure of herself but her self-worth is tied to her performance. She has a deep bond with her Squirtle.
Family: Her mother Lydia is a nurse in the city. She is both strong and kind. She has the same orange hair as her daughter. However, she wears her long hair in a tight chignon. Her eyes are olive-green.
History: Roxanne grew up as an only child in Cerulean City. She loved her mother very much, but at the age of fourteen she set out to become the very best pokemon trainer that she could be. In Pallet town she selected a young Squirtle as her starter pokemon because of her love of the sea. Squirtle was eager to prove himself to Roxanne and soon they had caught a wild Jigglypuff. Roxanne didn't like to travel alone and felt that it was unnecessary for her pets to remain in their pokeballs. The three bonded quickly.
Roxanne was on her way to her first gym battle when she spotted a wild Nidorino. She arrogantly tried to capture the pokemon. She sent Jigglypuff into battle even though she had very little training. The Nidorino charged through Jigglypuff and directly towards Roxanne. The powerful pokemon knocked the trainer to the ground where her arm broke in several places. Squirtle managed to distract the Nidorino long enough for Roxanne to return Jigglypuff to her pokeball. The evolved pokemon ran off but Squirtle was terribly injured. Roxanne picked him up and ran to the nearest hospital. When they opened the pokeball Jigglypuff was dead and Squirtle was traumatized. It would be a long recovery for Roxanne and Squirtle and she decided to give up on her dream for a while.
The young girl went back to school and continued to study the different types of pokemon in order to learn which pokemon are evenly matched. She even began taking nursing classes in college. It had been nine years since Jigglypuff died and Squirtle began to act restlessly. Roxanne decided it was time to try again and against her mother’s wishes she quit school. Now, a more mature Roxanne and Squirtle travel back to Pallet Town for an new beginning in the hopes of burying their haunted past.
