"Augh! I should have worn different shoes." Ivy huffed as she looked down at her combat boots. While very cute, not exactly comfortable. She adjusted the straps of her backpack once more, for hopefully the last time for a few hours. Her eyes grew bigger once she saw the sign for Pallet Town. "Thank the legendaries!" She exclaimed and found just enough energy to keep going. It had been a long week, traveling from her former home of Celadon to Pallet Town. She didn't to run, and when she saw the professor's ad, she saw her chance. Without a word to a single soul, she left her past behind. Well she attempted to at least. Traveling was lonely, and hadn't given her much chance to distract her mind. Hopefully with a companion she would be able focus on other things.
She had gotten used to living in a bigger city, so Pallet Town looked like nothing. There were a few homes scattered about, and a the lab wasn't much bigger than most of the buildings in Celadon city. Ivy brushed a few of the brown stray hairs away from her dark eyes. Another deep breath, and then she was in front of the lab doors. Her hands began pushing the door open, her small body frame behind the push to add some strength. There was one more deep breath before Ivy took a few steps in.
She had avoided talking to people for a week straight now, since the funeral for the love of her life. No one knew her here though, no one would begin asking how she was. She didn't need to lie through her teeth, though she probably would. Most people wouldn't question her though if she said, she was okay. Nobody here, will try to hold her hand. Nope, to these people she was just another person desiring to be a trainer. This gave her the courage to finally speak up, "Um, excuse me. I'm here for the whole adventure and helping with research thing." She put ever so eloquently.
