Kenta sat nearby a pond, three Poke’balls clutched awkwardly in his hand, then decided it was best to throw it one at a time. “Come on out everyone, it’s time you all get to meet each other!” he declared, promptly throwing a Poke’ball next to him on the ground, one in the water, and one high up into the air. First came out his Charmeleon Enry on the ground, looking as cool as ever. Second was the angry Magicarp he just caught which splashed about, flailing angrily once the ball hit the water. Lastly was the Spearow he caught at Pappy’s farm.
“Try to get along now… oh boy.” Kenta could feel the tension between the Magicarp and Charmeleon, they were giving each other stare glares. “Guys, cut it out. You two fought each other I know, but you’ll have to learn to work together as a team now.” he tried to break them up as he tried to stand between them but they instead gave him a ‘stay out of this’ kind of look.
“Spear-row!” Kenta’s Spearow then swooped in to land on his shoulder, then hid behind his head in fear. Gobbles must have really traumatised him with its fury before, maybe it associated any kind of tension with that horrible time where the giant Fearow attacked him for being weak. “Are you okay, Kojaku? There’s no need to be scared, you can be as ferocious as they can.” he tried to encourage his Spearow. Unlike the usually angry expression Spearow would have, Kenta’s own showed a sad and scared space. Looks like he had to work on his ferocity otherwise it would likely be picked on by other Poke’mon for being weak and cowardly.
Meanwhile, Enryu tried to intimidate the Magicarp with flames just simmering out of its mouth. The Magicarp in returned, jumped up and down in an attempted to splash water all over the fire Poke’mon, it knew full well that it was vulnerable against water. With is unusually thick skin, it had the advantage resisting against the Charmeleon’s fire attacks too. “Char!” Enryu growled at the fish as he hopped back nimbly then made a warning swipe in front of the Magicarp.
“I said cut it out you two! Don’t make me put you back into your Poke’balls!” Kenta himself had to step in and gave a firm word to the two. That seemed to do the trick, since the Magicarp stopped splashing about and just floated above the water, its angry eyes just above glaring daggers at both the Charmander and his trainer.
“Char-meleon!” Enryu suddenly turned around to see a trainer walking past them, wanting to test its power out when it could, always seeking a challenge. “Oh hey, it’s you.” Kenta realised it was Zak out of all people, which meant he owed him some words he didn’t manage to say before. “Hey, thanks for luring the Fearow away from me before. That was a pretty cool and brave thing you did back there I admit,” he said. Maybe he’d forgive him about what happened years ago, it was so way in the past anyway.
