Callie had just gotten off the ferry and was on her way to Pallet to meet Professor Oak. Her parents still weren't totally aware of what was going on, though her father seemed suspicious. Before she left on Arborville, he pulled her aside and made her repeat back to him the Rules of Pokèmon and corrected her as she made small mistakes. A bear hug later and a promise to call as soon as she met her partner, the blond young woman was on her way to the other region. It had taken some time and she read the book she brought with her to pass the time; she'd gotten several chapters into the novel by the time they had arrived.
She now thought back to the rules as the Pigeot she borrowed made it's lengthy journey to the quiet little town. Lesson one: 'All Pokèmon are dangerous. They are wild creatures, and must be treated with some measure of fear as well as respect'. Well, maybe not allare dangerous, but definitely most of the population. She didn't like to argue with her father, especially since they lived near several dangerous types in their forested town. Skarmory, murkrow, beedrill, arbok, they were just a few that lived there.
Lesson number two: 'Don't be stupid'. That was a basic rule for just about anything, but with Pokèmon, it was even moreso important. As much as people glamorized the creatures, they were still incredibly dangerous. Three: Be kind. A little kindness could go a long way and with Pokèmon respect and kindness has to go together very carefully. Especially with trainers. Rule three worked with all of the others so much that it was kind of hard to avoid it sometimes.
The bird beneath her chirped and Callie looked up from her musings and saw a town approaching. It was most likely Pallet town and she couldn't help but grin, "Thank you for this, Mouse." She scratched at the bird's feathers, prompting a purr from it.
Soon though, they had passed the town underneath. Apparently that wasn't their destination. That was well enough. It would probably be another few minutes before they landed.
Callie felt strangely distant from the situation, aside from some mild excitement that was pooling in her chest. She was going to meet her first, actual, personal Pokèmon. She wasn't quite sure who she would pick, but she knew it would be a fantastic meeting. She'd already picked out names for if it were a girl, a boy, if it were picky or lazy...
Soon, Mouse crowed and they were landing with a rustle of feathers and a grunt from both of them. It was a bit of a hard landing, but she couldn't much blame the bird for it considering her weight. A few scritches on the bird's crest and soon enough the bird was on it's way back home.
She didn't much care for the idea of doing everything on foot, but who knew? Maybe she would soon have a Pokèmon capable of transport? That would be fantastic! She thought about the various Pokèmon in this country, and considered when she might meet what creature on her journey. She'd have to call her parents the moment she got in to Viridian, however, and update them on her journey.
Realizing she was on the outskirts of the town, Callie brushed off the wayward bristles from her clothing and made her way into Pallet. It wasn't too hard to find the professor's office building when she came into the town proper. It was blatantly official-looking, though modest. The sign helped as well.
The young trainer raised a hand to knock on the door, since it was modeled after the homes, when she realized she didn't need to and moved it to the nob. Soon enough she was inside and watching the hustle and bustle of the aides working with various Pokèmon. She hesitated, not sure where to go as everyone was so busy.
{O|O|C} I want this to be super short, despite the length of this one, lol.{/O|O|C}
