Kenta was in his room, playing some Poke’mon simulator battles online, when he suddenly got a notification of a new email. While in most cases he would ignore it, since most probably it was spam, but the sender of the email perked his interest. “Professor Oak? I don’t remember subscribing to him,” he said in wonder, and curiously opened up the email to read what it said.
His eyes widened in surprise at what Professor Oak said in the email, as discussed? He did not remember even talking to him before, and wondered who might be talking on behalf like that without letting him know, and that took at least a mintue. “Dad, of course he’d do something like this…” he realised then mentally hit himself for not noticing it straight away. His father; Sora Nakashima, would occasionally work as Professor Oak’s assistant from time to time, due to their overlapping interests in Poke’mon technology.
“Urgh, knowing dad, he’s going to make it hard for me to refuse…” This is Professor Oak after all, it would be rude at the very least to turn him down, especially when he’s expecting me to be on the field team. He mused over this random happening, this would be quite the impact on his life. Did he even want to leave his parents and Pallet Town? He was happy and content here if he was honest, he was helping the family out with their businesses, and he got good grades at school, the locals were friendly too.
As for Poke’mon, he didn’t have much experience with them, as in physical contact. He did learn plenty about them through, from what others knew and through simulations, though he understood that did not compare with the real thing. “So his grandson’s become a Poke’mon Champion huh, I shouldn’t be surprised,” he said with a light sigh, as if Kenta could even dream of achieving such a goal in his life. All that fame and glory would be great, but he knew going through such a road would be hard, especially since he gathered many other trainers had such a goal too.
“Well I guess it wouldn’t hurt just checking things out for now and see what dad has to say,” Kenta decided to just flow with it for now, it was not like Professor Oak was expect a reply email. Possibly his dad would have further details, then make his decision then. So with that, he hopped off his computer chair and got properly dressed for the outdoors. He put on a black polo shirt, blue jeans, white sports shoes and then made his way to Professor’s Oak’s lab in town.
