“Well. I guess its better to begin late than never.” The new teenager stepped out of Professor Oak's lab, his right hand clutching onto a red and white sphere. The Silph Co. branded objects rattling and shaking every so often, kept still by the tight embrace of the teen. In all truthfulness, the guy didn't exactly know which of the rare creatures inhabited the item, as he simply walked in and swiped up the first one he set eyes on. After all, Jin did have the best luck in town,so what could have stopped him from picking the right Pokémon?
Nothin'. That's what.
Now, he was outside of the Professors lab, eyeing his gift. A red, cybernetically advanced encyclopedia that could supposedly record all of the mystically creature that inhabited the region. While the Kogjinka wasn't one to be skeptic, it was a wild thought. Not even the Poké Professor could be that smart...could he? Bah, oh well. He got the Pokédex and his Pokémon-- he was happy. Who knows, maybe the old man was actually capable of recording all the Pokémon in the world. This graduate was gonna support him regardless of whether or not he was right or wrong.
“Now for this Pokémon. I'm kinda curious as to just what the hecks in here..” Jin scratched behind his ear, both brows raised in interest with his eyes looking lazy and gazing still. Though, diverting for him to step out toward Pallet Town's lake. Here, he could toss the ball out and reveal what was taken. “Alright! Come on out...you!” He yelled, spinning on the ball of his toes before knuckle balling the sphere. By all his luck, he got the best Pokémon around!
“...BULBA!” The tiny, cabbage looking Poké cried out, popping out and landing on all four of it's legs. The new Trainer walking forward before crouching down to get onto eye level with the male Pokémon. Instead of saying anything, Jin chose to put his hand on Bulbasaur's head to pet him gently, breaking out into a giddy giggle. He got his very own Bulbasaur! Not only that, but the best one around (in his opinion, anyway)! This was rad, his first day on the job and he already found out he was destined. Him and his adorable little pal.
Jin jumped up, putting his right hand on his hip and his left being balled into a fist. His face being plastered with a teethy grin, while his eyebrows were furrowed into a triumphant expression. It was clear that he was definitely determined to be the first of many to fill up the Pokédex with every single Pokémon Kanto had to offer. Perhaps there was more, but it was smart to restrict the mind from wandering; it would hurt to think way too much anyway.
“Hope you're ready, Lil' Green. Well, are ya?”
“Bulb!”
The baby Poké replied, bucking from his front legs and lifting his back up in a energetic form. That was good enough!
That was enough Tea-Time. It was time to say goodbye to Ma and Pop. Both, Jin and Bulbasaur gave one another a single nod before walking away from the lake, side by side. Bulbasaur had a peculiar walk, bouncy and joyous with each step taken. It was noted, as his head was raised and his eyes were shut, though a cocky smirk across his adorable little face. The sprout on his back wiggling and the opening top waving from side to side. Whereas, Jin was simply hand in pocket with a simple stride. Unfortunately, he lived a little far from the location he was positioned at.
“Er..I was gonna make you walk, but that wouldn't be cool. Wanna hitch a ride, Lil' Green?” Jin looked at his companion, shrugging his shoulders. The reply being a wave of the Bulbasaur's paw in refusal. Guess he could use the work out? Oh well. He was an independent Pokémon.
Beginning, Jin and Bulbasaur took off with haste. Legs zipping past one another as they rushed and hopped over the small patches of grass that connected Pallete to his hometown of Viridian. Jin having to be more careful, whereas Bulbasaur simply weaved past the blades of grass and used his color as camouflage to avoid any battles to come at him. Smart little guy, he was. In a matter of minutes did he go from Oak's lab to his house in Viridian. He always was a fast kid.
4. Time to say good bye
Within Jin's home, his father and mother were sitting together in the family room. His father, more light in skin tone and strict, sipping upon his cup of tea. Where, his mother whom was the same tone as her kid, was sitting beside him and sipping her cup as well. A quaint little home. Jin walking into the room, with Bulbasaur pattering behind him. The teen having a stupid grin across his face as he pick up the Bulbasaur by his tummy and holding him up. The Bulbasaur kicking his tiny feet playfully.
“So, mom and pa! Look at what the Professor gave me,” Jin spoke. “My own Bulbasaur!”
“A Bulbasaur? Impressive. I'm proud!” Darude Kogjinka raised a dark brow up in approval. His mother having a cute-fit over how adorable the start Pokémon was. “My baby is growing up! Just adorable!”
Darude setting his cup down and standing up. He was taller than Jin by a few feet. His son setting the Pokemon down as he was pulled into a tight embrace. Apparently his stoic father was actually more emotional than he assumed. “Aye..Jin! You may call me Darude. No more Father or anything like it! You're an adult now!” His father pulled back, tears streaming down his cheeks and a thumbs up given. His glasses fogged up from the steam.
“Aw..Fa- Darude..” Jin scratched the back of his head. “Cool it, ya big baby!”
“Well, that's your father. You're still calling me Mom, still! Now get out before your dad has a breakdown!”
“I..I'll smell you guys later..!!” Jin sobbed, giving Darude a thumbs up the same and rushing out with Bulbasaur. They were off and ready to explore once again.
Problem was...they were right outside Viridian Forests' entrance.
