Expansion 1 Patch 1.
Experience Gained from showdown battles will now be balanced by a percentage of 1,000 experience.
If Roxanne has 3,000 experience and Jin has 1,000, Roxanne would earn 33% of 1,000 rounded up to the nearest 50 (350 exp).
Jin would gain 300% of 1,000 because Roxanne's trainer experience is 3 times his own. So he would gain 3,000 exp if he defeated her in a showdown battle.
Losers would still receive half of the reward, trainers must still place wagers if they want to earn money from showdown battles.
Expansion 1 Patch 2.
Most shop items have been significantly reduced in price. Further tinkering may occur if needed.
Next patch will add elements of Pokemon snap to the games item list!
Expansion 1 Patch 3.
The following items have been added to the shop!
Snap Camera- 2,000 Capture pictures of Pokemon & Trainers. These pictures can be sold for a value based on the popularity, activity, and rareness of the Pokemon or trainer that you take a picture of. Can also be used as evidence against others for illegal activity.
Video Camera- 6,000 Capture live video in high quality, recordings sell for quite a bit more!
Pokemon Food- 250 Many Pokemon will act in a cute manner if you throw food to them. This can increase the value of a snap shot, assuming the Pokemon is considered to be cute by the masses.
Pester Ball- 250 A Pokeball like item that contains a terrible smelling gas that is known to enrage Pokemon. Using this can be risky, as the Pokemon will likely react aggressively. This can be used to get a great shot of a Pokemon that is enraged, or just to annoy trainers and Pokemon alike.
Pokemon Island Tour- 5,000 Jump on the Zero-One and take a tour of Pokemon Island, south of Cinnabar. The tickets can be expensive and different sections of the Island are open for tour at different times, but the value of the pictures are a lot higher and many rare Pokemon can be found here! Note that you’ll have to leave your Pokemon behind. You can catch a ferry to the Island from Pallet Town, Vermillion City, or Fuschia City!
Pokeblog- 1,000 An online website that you can use to increase your own fame with your shots. Unfortunately Kanto lacks free hosting sites so you have to pay for hosting.
Photo Studio- 10,000 Develop your media at your studio to receive more money for each picture.
Media Mini Minivan- 20,000 A small vehicle that can traverse through most terrain. Incapable of holding passengers safely, but the back can be opened up and has its own Photo Studio inside of it.
Expansion 1 Patch 4
New Solo Capture Options
Up to four times per week you may contact a Poke moderator or myself and have your captures written as a one shot post. You are told the moves the Pokemon has and you write the battle between the Pokemon and yourself. At the end of the post you can choose to try to capture the Pokemon, but keep in mind that if you completely write down what the Pokemon can do the mod has the right to decide that the Pokemon feinted (in which case you will be allowed to keep the Pokeball.) You may attempt to do this four times per week, the maximum number of Pokemon you may capture using this method is three per week. For these purpose weekly catches reset on Friday at 12:00am EST (the first hour of Friday) so that you get a fresh slate for the weekend.
Experience gains overhaul
Trainer experience is being removed. Showdown battles will now award 500 exp to the winner and 250 to the loser- more can be earned by writing out the combat, but money gains remain based on wager by the two players (except for written out combats taking place after.)
Solo post gains capped at 50% of word count, up from 40%.
2 player groups capped at 75% of word count, up from 45%.
3+ player groups capped at 100% of word count, up from 50%.
(Per player, not per alt.)
Water Pokemon Clarification- Water Pokemon that lack legs can levitate about an inch off of the ground and can survive out of water. They are still affected by ground based attacks and do not have true levitation such as a Koffing or Magnemite.
New items & updates!
Fishing Rod- 1000 Adds 10 to your behind the scenes encounter roll while fishing for a wild Pokemon. (You can wade around and try to catch without it)
Repels- 3 use items. No repels or lures stack with one another, but they do stack with the effects of badges and amulets.
Super Rod- 3000 Adds 20 to your behind the scenes encounter roll while fishing for a wild Pokemon.
Ultra Rod- 5000 Adds 30 to your behind the scenes encounter roll while fishing for a wild pokemon.
Elemental Repel/Super/Max: 500/1000/1500- Your behind the scenes encounter roll is rerolled 1/2/3 time(s) if you would encounter a Pokemon of the specified element. 3 use item.
Elemental Lure/Super/Max: 400/800/1200- Your behind the scenes encounter roll is rerolled 1/2/3 times if it is not the type of Pokemon specified. 3 use item.
Elemental Amulets: 2000 when worn, if your behind the scenes roll is within five steps of a Pokemon of the type that the amulet represents that Pokemon will appear instead. Only one amulet or badge can be active at a time. It could be detrimental to use an amulet with an elemental repel of a different type!
Badges/Special Amulets: Special* when active, if your behind the scenes roll is within ten steps of a Pokemon of the specified type it will appear instead. Only one amulet or badge can be active at a time. It could be detrimental to use a badge with an elemental repel of a different type!
*Only earned by defeating Gym leaders/ Elite Four. Non Badge types other than Fairy can be won at the Casino! Fairy can be found using the digging tools!
Digging Tools- 1000 Excavate different areas of the world in search of rare Fossils, Items, and lost pieces of history. Sometimes you will find junk and other times you will find treasures! Different places have different things. Must be used in thread (contact Snorlax for a treasure roll). Over use can lead to the tools breaking.
Pokedex Hacks
Silent Mode- 100 The Pokedex in its current form doesn't have a mute button, something that can be detrimental to a trainer trying to be sneaky. This adds a much needed mute to the Pokedex.
Human Profiler- 500 An illegal application that uses the recognition algorithims of the Pokedex to tell the trainer more about a human they encounter based upon facial patterns. It can access personal records such as name, occupation, age, date of birth, etc.
Shock Coil- 1000 the Pokedex can now be used to perform the thunder wave attack. This drains the battery of the Pokedex and it must be recharged at a Pokemon center or similar area after only one use.
Project Image- 2000 the Pokedex is rigged to project an image of any Pokemon that you have seen. It has no mass, and can appear to be up to ten feet tall. Larger Pokemon may appear stunted, but it is possible to make small Pokemon look large. Requires a flat surface to be effective such as a wall or large rock.
EMP- 10000 fit the Pokedex with a device that disables it and all electronics within a one hundred foot (30 meter) radius. Disables Pokeballs from opening. Lasts for ten minutes. Psychic type moves are disabled during this time, and certain Pokemon are knocked unconscious (including but not limited to Magnemite and Porygon). The cost to recharge the EMP equipment is 3000.
Patch 1.5
Welcome to a brand new year everyone! With the new year comes some big changes! We are switching to an idea that came about by accident with our new Mod Kabuto and Jan Hall. Wild encounters will now have a writing prompt from a pokemod, but the rest will be handled by solo posts of the trainers. Trainers now have control over adding their experience gains and pokemon to their Pokedex, this will help to reduce downtime! The much anticipated Trainer Specializations are now available!
