Otherwise known as the area where you can engage in plotting maneuvers with the former police officer turned reclusive Pokemon-training hobo, and see what kind of crazy hobo things he's gotten up to so far.
(Player note: he is not actually a hobo. He just looks like one. Honest.)
One: As a general rule, assume anything I post is open and welcome to anyone who wants to bug Sir Silent-a-lot, unless specifically marked otherwise. It's the general formula I've come to run by lately, and makes things easier for my poor mind.
Two: The rate at which I post is subject to be intermittent at best. Maybe multiple times a day (if anyone else could match that pace) one day, then days without a peep. There are factors mostly beyond my control that cause that. So don't expect a "regular" schedule, is all I mean.
Three: There...really is no three. But usually these lists come in threes.
Four: If for whatever reason you wish to get in touch with me beyond the confines of the forum, I have Skype, which I'm signed into pretty much whenever I'm conscious and at home. You can find my Skype name on my profile, if you are so inclined.
One: Thomas has a limp that is almost impossible not to notice. Without his cane, it is even worse, reducing him to an odd shuffling gait. Why did he even start on this journey if he can barely walk? Personal reasons, mostly.
Two: He doesn't really say much. Oh, sure, he'll answer questions if you ask him, or say something if someone speaks directly to him. He has a distinct drawl to his words, and tends to speak slower than would be considered normal, as if carefully thinking over his words all the time. It can get either amusing or annoying very quick, as most people will tell you.
Three: While his somewhat limited mobility hinders it most of the time, Thomas has more than a little experience in fighting. Can't always rely on Pokemon to take down the crooks, after all. This has translated well to subduing people to give a little assistance to the law here and there. He's quite adept at tripping people up with his cane, and keeping them down once they're grounded. It's kind of unnerving how easy he makes it look, too. Fun stuff, huh? Basically, it's not a good idea to try and mug the grumpy-looking guy with the cane, unless you want to be force to tell an embarrassing story about how some old crippled guy beat you up. Of course then you might get beat up again if he hears you calling him a cripple.
Four: Injured leg notwithstanding, Thomas is a strong guy. Strong as in "lift someone off the ground and over his shoulder with one arm without showing any real effort". Getting on his bad side isn't a good idea, especially if you're within arms' reach. Or even remotely close. It's not just arm-strength. His good leg can give him a surprising jump to pounce on you with. Of course, it is only one good jump...
Five: He almost always has a constant, if mild, scowl on his face. It's nothing personal. He doesn't dislike you more than anyone else.
Six: While it's downplayed and something that usually isn't an issue, Thomas does have some issues with confidence in his abilities as both a trainer and in more general terms. It was a simple mistake that ended both his tenure with the police force and his first run of training, after all, and one that he constantly berates and mentally beats himself over the head with, insisting that a little more caution, or clearer directions on his part to his partner could have kept them both in prime shape. It's a guilt issue he doesn't cope too well with.
Friends...
Hoo boy. Thomas isn't...really in the market for any friends. It's not that he actively pushes people away or makes an effort to NOT get to know people on a friendly basis. It's more that he just...doesn't do it. It's become habit. Always on the move -- slowly, mind you, but constantly -- and not wanting to get bogged down in anything going on. There's also the fact that he's well aware his progress is going to be slow, at best. And he generally doesn't want to force the company of a grumpy old man on anyone else. But, again, it isn't like he makes an effort not to get to know people. It's just not something he normally does. To be honest, in most cases it's a miracle if you can get him to remember your name without beating it into his head. But keep pestering him enough and he might start to be a little less...well...him. Why anyone would want to, though, is a mystery.
Enemies...
Ack. Thomas has very strict morals and standards for People He Doesn't Like Very Much. It's much easier to get put on this list than the previous one. He's not a fan of most things that would constitute breaking of the law, as a holdover from his police days, but he also holds an especially deep grudge against those who cause injury to others intentionally, and even more so if they do it without a damn good reason. Most of the time he's just going to upgrade his blank stare into an iron-clad glare and go from quiet and distant to cold and dismissive rather than actually get angry at such people, but it's...it's not a good idea to push his buttons.
Romance?
Why would you even... Sigh. Oh well. You asked. It's....difficult. Thomas is, in his own scarce words, a professional at being professionally distant. Not to mention he's more than a little clueless about a bunch of things, not the least of which is that strange magic we call "feelings". Suffice to say, he's not going to be the one to be pursuing any kind of relationship. If he even notices there is one in the first place. Why anyone would want anything to do with this crazy travelling not-hobo man is, once again, a mystery.

Receiving his Pokedex and some beginning supplies from one of Professor Oak's aides, he thanks the man and leaves the lab to get back on the road, Arthur in tow.

Title to be determined.
