Bashful Nature.
Appearance: To say the least, Jan Hall has albinoism- his skin is pale and his eyes are a pinkish red. His hair is white, it being rather scruffy and long. Very untrimmed, but kept up well as if he wanted to take care of it. Jan is usually dressed well, but not in iron down clothes. He wears a button up shirt, white, and dress pants with dress shoes. It is some of the few nice clothing pieces he has, but besides this- he usually wears a regular t-shirt of some kind, sneakers, and jeans. Having more than one bag, a book bag (for clothes and personal items) and a messenger bag (for things pertaining to the pokemon world and items) - it is easy to carry it around.
Face Claim: Kaworu from NGE.
Personality: A caring and compassionate boy, but mainly when it comes to those who are close to him or pokemon (his or in general). One would have to know him to see this side of him, especially because he can come off as cold and aloof. A person you'd need patience with, considering he wouldn't bother much about anyone else's needs or wants except his own (and others- as mentioned before). He tends to be rowdy too, having little to no respect for authority and usually quick of his feet. Always doing something, always moving, and always keeping himself busy and preoccupied.
He is pretty quiet too, and level-headed. It is hard to anger him or upset him, considering obedience and discipline were heavily enforced in his family. It may be why he is so rowdy and has little to no respect for authority in general.
Family: Jan Hall comes from a big, but poor, family. His father was a miner and they lived off of scraps growing up- his mother died shortly after he was born, about a year later during childbirth. He was picked on mostly by his older siblings, due to him being 'different' than they are and the youngest boy. He has several older brothers who did not follow the life of a trainer but the life of a miner, and his little sister (just a year younger than he is) is being suited and raised to be the perfect house wife due to a prearranged marriage within the next few years. The father was very strict on discipline and obedience- always wanting straight backed, well trimmed, boys and a nice, respectful, daughter.
His little sister and the father's daughter is a shy girl, but has quite a mouth on her.
None of these characters will be put up for adoption or anything, they are living as miners. The sister may be put up for adoption by me at a later date since if we do age characters- she'll run away around the time the prearranged marriage is given a date.
History: Jan Hall was born as a middle child- second to last, the youngest being a little girl named Middy. Her middle name was Marla, which is the name Jan gave his pikachu. He grew up in an environment+ where discipline and obedience was forced, and being picked on by older brothers were common. Growing up around the mines, there were many ways for him to explore so he was always out and about. Wanting to get away from relatives, out of the house- anywhere but around his family. Sometimes he'd take his little, and only, sister out to play with him since he was the only one willing to play with her. His older brothers didn't want to be seen around 'sissies' and 'freaks' anyways. Or at least that was what he was deemed.
He spent his childhood learning to be quiet, and to shut himself up emotionally. He wouldn't get himself hurt if he stayed quiet and didn't allow himself to- in his ideology anyways. As he continued to grow, he continued to resist authority more and more. When he heard there was a life of adventure, and all he had to do was go around and learn about pokemon- it was a welcome chance. Pokemon he didn't entirely grow up with, but he loved the creatures since they were more understanding than his brothers who he grew to hate. An argument ensued between his father and him when he had brought it up- Jan was 'not allowed to go' and he 'had to stay to become a miner like everyone else'. So what did Jan do? He packed up his clothes and other things, made sure he had bags, had a final conversation with his sister- telling her he'd be back when he was older, and left.
