This "game" is relatively simple to understand. At its core, anyone who comes along (hereafter referred to as "players") posts an action they would like to attempt to do, much like a game of D&D, and after a dice roll on my (that is, the "GM"'s) part, a result is determined. How are the results determined? It's really very simple.
Using a dice roller (specifically, this one, if you are curious), I roll a single d6. That is, a six-sided die. The resulting roll will enact a result as follows:
[1] Critical Failure: Not only did your attempt to do whatever you were attempting fail, but it failed in so spectacular a fashion it made your situation worse than it already was. Oh, no.
[2] Failure: You didn't exactly succeed in your attempts. You failed most assuredly.
[3] Neutral Result: Well, you didn't completely fail at your goal, but things didn't go as you had planned. All in all, nothing really changed much.
[4] Success: Your efforts were successful, to a degree. Your goal was met, though perhaps not in the fashion you may have intended.
[5] Full Success: Your plans go off without a hitch, and you achieve a most wonderful and complete success. Fantastic!
[6] Critical Success: Your plans succeed. Much better than anticipated, actually. To be honest, maybe you shouldn't have tried so hard, looks like you did so well there were some surprising consequences. Yikes!
Sounds simple enough, right? Excellent! Since I have plans to start up a d20 game/story soon, I figured I might as well get some (admittedly, rather less than completely serious and mostly for humor) practice in for my eventual role.
Now, of course the game works well if you all build off of the actions of each other. Maybe one person attempts to win the lottery and succeeds! Then someone else could try and steal their winnings. And on and on, to (hopefully, anyway) hilarious results! There isn't really a limit to what you can try to do, or even the number of actions you can attempt per "turn", just try to keep things reasonable, in good taste and, of course, please keep the site rules in mind, okay, friends?
Now then! So, who's interested in being the first one to start things off?
