Nicknames: Dan, Danny
Age: 18
Birthday: Jun 24
Gender: Male
Showdown ID: DanielCassidy23
Starter Pokemon: Squirtle/Male/Poseidon
Appearance:
Personality: Daniel is a very intelligent young man that can sometimes be obsessed with learning about things in theory instead of getting out there and doing them, so he can be a little socially awkward. He is rather observant and tends to notice when something seems odd, but he is rather shy so he never tells anyone that he isn’t extremely close to about it. When he does talk, Daniel is short and to the point as he doesn’t like to waste time, and the entire time he is talking he will be messing with his glasses in some way.
Caution is a way of life for him as he never walks into a situation without having some kind of a plan, and sometimes he waits a little too long and an opportunity slips away from him. He is loyal to those that he calls friends, and he will always have their back should ever they have need of him. People who go after his friends or those who can’t defend themselves is one of the few things that can actually make him angry. His likes include reading books and listening to experts speak on a subject. His dislikes include but aren’t limited to competitive sports, manual labor and having to eat spinach.

History: Daniel Cassidy grew up in Saffron City with his two loving parents and three siblings. His father was an executive at a private company that mainly did business in the importing and exporting business of the region, while his mother was an artist who specialized in portraits of children and Pokemon together. All of his siblings had aspirations to be trainers form a young age. Daniel didn’t have such aspirations when he was young. Instead, he took a more scholarly approach on life by focusing all of his time and energy into becoming something that he considered useful: a teacher.
While his mother was very nurturing to all of her children, his father made sure that his children had a structured education by sending them to a private school, and he made sure that they finished schooling before they decided what they did with their lives. Both of his older siblings left to become Pokemon trainers after graduating, and his younger brother made plans to do the same. Daniel was one who took that to heart, and he was nearly a permanent resident of his school’s library, and several of his teachers sent letters home expressing concern that he showed signs of antisocial tendencies and something needed to be done to address the issue.
After the tenth or so letter from the school, his mother confronted his father about the matter and told him that if he didn’t do something to help change their son than there would be a reckoning, and the next time that Daniel came home from school was when his father met him at the door. The two had a long talk about his future, and his son expressed interest in continuing his education so that he could become a professor or something along those lines.
His father made a deal with him that if he took some time to see the world that he would pay for everything, and reluctantly, Daniel agreed to do so. Naturally, he had no clue where to begin his life journey, so he spent the next few weeks trying to decide that. All of his siblings told him that the best thing to do was to become a Pokemon trainer, and then he would have a reason to both see the world and learn something new. With their argument in mind, Daniel made the choice of doing just that.
